Picked a $20 banneton over a $50 one for my sourdough shaping

I was trying to decide between a cheap bamboo banneton from a discount store or a fancy lined one from a specialty shop for my loaves. I went with the $20 option because I figured if it messed up, I'd upgrade later. After three batches of sourdough, the cheap one actually left a perfect spiral pattern without sticking too bad. Has anyone else found that price doesn't always match how well a banneton works?

Read a baking blog that said cheap bannetons actually breathe better than expensive plastic-lined ones.

Cheap stuff surprises you more often than not in life.

Idk how many batches you've run through it so far but did the pattern start to fade or warp after a few uses? That's usually my worry with cheaper baskets - the lining might not hold up the same way over time. Curious if the spiral stayed consistent batch to batch.
