My hairdryer hack for chilly sourdough starters

My sourdough starter was dead slow in a cold kitchen. I pointed a hairdryer at it from across the counter on low heat by accident. It woke right up and started bubbling like crazy. Now I just give it a gentle warm-up before baking, and my bread turns out perfect.

Ever worry about drying it out too much?

Consider the bounce-back effect. Over-drying can trigger your skin to produce excess oil, leading to a greasy feel later. Specific case: using strong astringents daily often results in oilier T-zones by afternoon. It's a self-defeating cycle.

Ugh yes paigen52, I feel this so hard. What toner are you using right now? My skin got so tight and flaky last winter from overdoing it, and then it totally backfired and got super oily by lunchtime.
