Lost my sourdough culture after forgetting it for a few days

I left it in the fridge without feeding for a long weekend. When I checked, it was covered in mold. Starting over is such a drag.

Man that sucks. Was it still bubbling at all before you left it, or had it already slowed down?

Actually, it's the opposite... a warm fridge would slow down the fermentation, not make it go bad faster.

Honestly, your fridge might be set too warm. Tbh, that can make it go bad way faster than usual.
