I bought a $90 'pro' digital scale that kept drifting mid-measurement and ruined two batches of macarons.

Has anyone found a reliable brand that doesn't lose its mind with a little flour dust?

Ugh, that's the worst. I had a cheap one that would change its mind if the AC kicked on. I just use a basic kitchen scale now, like the kind for coffee beans. Seems to handle dust okay.

My old scale was a 0.1g model that drifted like crazy. I switched to a simple 1g resolution postal scale, the kind for letters, and it's been solid. It doesn't get thrown off by air currents like @paul233 mentioned. The bigger platform is actually better for weighing small parts too.

Yeah I had almost the same problem with a 0.1g scale. The numbers would keep jumping around even when nothing was on it. Drove me nuts. Finally picked up an old triple beam balance from a garage sale for like 10 bucks. No batteries, no drift, and it doesn't care if I set it on a slightly uneven surface. It's a little slower to use but way more reliable if accuracy matters for what you're doing.
