Why does nobody talk about management pushing unnecessary upsells?

My shop foreman keeps pushing add-ons for every oil change, even when the car is fine. It's making me lose TRUST in our service recommendations. What's your take on maintaining integrity in this trade?

What happens when customers catch on to these shady upsells? It completely RUINS the good name of the whole shop. Being honest means telling the truth even when no one is watching. If your foreman keeps this up, loyal customers will walk. Have you considered bringing this up with higher management?

Higher management probably thinks "customer trust" is just a fancy way to say "lost commission.

Ugh, that's so true. Like with oil changes, they always push for extra flushes that aren't needed. Customers catch on fast and stop coming back. Higher-ups don't see that lost trust means lost money for years.
