Warning: That cheap ultrasonic cleaner from the big box store messed up 3 injectors last month

I grabbed a $60 unit off the shelf in Phoenix to clean some GDI injectors and it stripped the brass tips after 2 cycles. Has anyone else had luck with a specific cleaner under $200 that doesn't ruin parts?

That "massage chair not a precision tool" line is exactly the problem. We've all gotten used to thinking a cheap tool will do the same job as an expensive one, but with electronics and mechanical stuff it just doesn't work that way. Why do we keep expecting $60 to replace $600?

Well that sounds about right. $60 cleaner probably thought it was a massage chair not a precision tool. Mine just gave my injectors a nice hot bath and left them worse than before.

Did you happen to see that article last month about ultrasonic cleaner overuse? Apparently the vibrations can actually mess up the internal seals if you run them too long. I stick with a basic pressure test and a good soaking in solvent now, and my injectors last way longer.
