Warning about those cheap aftermarket wheel spacers
Had a customer in the shop last week with a bad vibration, and we found the spacer on his truck had cracked clean through. Anyone else seeing these fail more often lately?

Man, how thin are they making these things? A buddy of mine had a similar scare last month. He bought some no-name spacers online for his Jeep, and after a few months of light trails, one just shattered into three pieces. We found chunks of it stuck in the wheel. It's scary to think what would've happened if he'd been on the highway. I told him that's what you get for trusting a part that costs less than a pizza.

That's terrifying, @danielh81. Did your buddy ever find out what metal those spacers were made from? I've seen some cheap ones that are basically cast aluminum, which can't handle stress like a good billet piece.
