Update: My impact socket split right down the middle on a stubborn axle nut yesterday.

I was using a 24mm deep well on a 2015 Silverado in the shop and it just gave out, so now I'm looking for a brand that can really take the heat.

Used to swear by cheaper sockets until one exploded on a ball joint. The flying metal chunk put a dent in my toolbox. Switched to Snap-on after that, they cost more but haven't had one fail yet.

Gotta disagree a little bit here. I've had Snap-on stuff fail on me too, just less often. The price difference is SO massive that I'd rather just buy cheaper ones and replace them when they break. Still way cheaper in the long run for me.

Guess I should be glad my tools only break on cars and not people. My old impact socket set is basically a collection of future shrapnel.
