Spent $200 on a 'universal' O2 sensor socket that rounded off the sensor on a Ford Escape
I mean, it was supposed to fit everything, but the walls were too thick and the hex was a bit soft. It chewed up the sensor and I had to spend another hour cutting it out. Anyone know a good brand for a thin-wall sensor socket that actually works?

Okay but is it really that deep? It's a rounded bolt, not a cracked engine block. People act like every bad tool is a personal betrayal. Sometimes you just get a crappy socket. Cut it off, swear a bit, move on. The real problem is expecting one tool to magically work on every car ever made.

Universal tools are like my gym membership, great in theory but mostly just a way to make me feel bad about wasting money. That socket sounds about as useful as a chocolate teapot. I've got a drawer full of "fits all" things that fit nothing but the trash can. Pretty sure the only thing thinner than the walls on a good sensor socket is my patience after a job like that.
