Noticed something weird at a salvage yard in Tucson last week

Went to pull a starter off a 2011 Civic at Pick-N-Pull and saw three separate guys using cordless ratchets on rusty bolts they could've hit with a breaker bar in half the time. The batteries were dying left and right in the 110 degree heat, yet nobody seemed to care about the wait. Am I old school for thinking a good 18 inch handle beats any electric tool when there's rust involved?

Kinda like everyone ordering fancy iced drinks when plain water's right there, people just love the new thing even when it makes no sense.
