My 74-year-old neighbor taught me more about rack and pinion boots in 10 minutes than 6 years in the shop
He watched me struggle with a torn boot on a 2016 Civic in his driveway and said "you're overthinking it, just use a zip tie and some dish soap," so I tried it and it seated perfectly, has anyone else had old-timers show them shortcuts that make you question your whole training?

Learned the same trick fixing my old truck, that soap trick saves you a whole hour of fighting.
