Finally pulled my first V8 swap last month in my buddy's garage

Started with a junkyard 5.3 from a 2005 Silverado and after 3 weekends of fighting exhaust bolts and wiring it actually fired up on the first crank, anyone else get that rush when the oil pressure needle jumps to life?

Man that first crank moment hits different when you built it yourself. Nothing beats seeing that oil pressure come up and knowing all those busted knuckles were worth it. The junkyard 5.3 is a solid choice too, those things just keep running no matter what. Bet that Silverado donor will live on way longer in its new home.
