Back in '08 I had a brake line blow on a '94 F-150 in the shop parking lot

I was just finishing up a pad slap and went to pump the pedal to seat them. Heard a loud pop and a hiss, and the pedal went straight to the floor. The old steel line had rusted through right at the frame rail where it was hard to see. I had to cut out the bad section, flare new line, and run it all the way back to the junction block. Took me an extra two hours on a Friday afternoon. Anyone else miss when most lines were easier to get to before everything got so packed in?

Ugh, that rusted line surprise is the worst, I had the same thing happen on my old Ranger!

Yeah, that rusted line surprise is the worst part. You think you're just dealing with one small spot, and then you find the whole line is crusty back to the next fitting. Makes a simple fix turn into a whole afternoon of cutting and flaring new line. Why does it always seem to fail right where you can't get a clean cut?

That spot on the frame rail is a killer, did you have to drop the tank too?
