Swung by a tiny yarn shop in Maine and completely changed my mind about acrylic blends
I've always been a wool snob, never touched acrylic stuff. But I stopped into this little place called The Spinning Wheel in Portland last weekend, and the owner showed me a baby blanket she made with a modern acrylic that was so soft I couldn't believe it. She said it's machine washable and holds color way better than wool, which convinced me to grab a few skeins for my next charity project. Has anyone else had a good experience with a specific acrylic brand they'd recommend?

Used to be totally the same way, wouldn't touch acrylic with a ten foot pole. Picked up some of that Berroco Comfort stuff for a baby afghan not too long ago and honestly couldn't tell the difference from wool, just easier to wash.

Just be careful with the red dye, it fades faster than the others in my experience.
