Used a hair dryer on a frozen lug nut last month

Last month in Chicago I was trying to change my tire in 15 degree weather and the lug nuts were completely frozen. I ran inside, grabbed my dog's high velocity grooming dryer, and blasted the wheel for about 10 minutes until one of them popped loose. Has anyone else tried unconventional heat sources on stubborn car parts or am I just lucky?

Oh my god, a dog grooming dryer?! That's wild, I never would have thought of that. I mean, I've used a hairdryer on a frozen lock before but not on lug nuts. I can't believe it actually worked though, that's kind of genius actually. I mean, maybe it's just me but I would've been worried about melting something or starting a fire or something.

Warm air is way safer than a torch for that kind of thing.
