Overheard a neighbor bragging about using a crowbar to open a pickle jar
I was out watering my plants Tuesday and heard my neighbor Larry tell his buddy he used a crowbar to get a stuck pickle jar open. He said he wedged it under the lid and popped it right off, no problem. I had to laugh because I have a whole drawer of kitchen gadgets specifically for jars, and here this guy uses a tool meant for demolition. It got me thinking how often we reach for whatever is closest even when it's completely wrong for the job. I once used a pair of pliers to tighten a watch band and scratched it all up. Has anyone else had a moment where the wrong tool actually worked better than the right one?
