Turned my nose up at garlic powder for years, now I keep three jars
I always thought fresh garlic was the only real option for pasta sauce, but after burning my third batch of minced garlic in a row last Thursday I grabbed my roommate's dusty powder jar. Threw a teaspoon into my ruined sauce and it actually saved the whole thing without any burnt taste. Has anyone else had their snobbery backfire like this?
Three batches burned in a row? At that point I'd be convinced my oven was haunted by a ghost that hates baked goods. Either that or my kitchen timer is secretly running on a different time zone than the rest of the house. I seriously think the smoke alarm would just give up and start mocking me at that point. Did you at least salvage any of them or was it a total loss?
