Found a sealed 1970s record at a garage sale and it was the WORST cover band I've ever heard
I picked up this pristine copy of 'The Nashville Stars Sing Elvis' for $3 at a sale in Austin, thought I struck gold. Got it home and it's clearly some guys in a basement doing off-key karaoke, not even close to Elvis. Has anyone else gotten excited over a vintage looking cover only to find total garbage inside?

$3 for a sealed Nashville Stars record is actually a steal even if it sucks, I'd buy that just for the weird novelty of it. Those old "tribute" records are always hilarious because the singer clearly never heard the actual song before, just saw the lyric sheet. Now you gotta play it at a party and watch people's faces when that cat gets stepped on during Suspicious Minds.

Wait, you paid 3 bucks for this and it wasn't even a real Elvis cover band? That's rough. I've seen those old "tribute" records before and they're usually trash, but $3 for a sealed copy is still a score if it turned out to be something legit. The worst part is probably the guy trying to hit those high notes in "Suspicious Minds" and it sounds like a cat getting stepped on. I'd be mad too, but at least now you've got a funny story and a good coaster.
