Found a near-mint original pressing of Rumours at a garage sale for $2
I usually skip the bins at garage sales because most of it is scratched up Herb Alpert records. But last Saturday in Arlington, this older lady had a whole box of 70s rock albums. I flipped through and found a Fleetwood Mac Rumours that looked like it had never been played. Side one has a tiny pop during Dreams but otherwise it sounds clean as a whistle. Has anyone else stumbled onto a record that was way better than you expected for pocket change?

Yeah I hear you on the "sounds clean as a whistle" part, but I gotta be real about those garage sale finds. My experience has been the opposite honestly. I mean, I picked up a copy of Boston's first album for a dollar once and it had this weird skip during More Than a Feeling that pretty much ruins the song. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people selling records for pocket change usually know they have issues. They're not gonna tell you about the scratch that makes side two unlistenable. So when I see someone bragging about a near mint copy of Rumours for $2, part of me wonders if they just got lucky or if they're being a little generous with the condition. Not saying yours isn't legit, but I've been burned too many times to get excited about a bargain bin score.

Right, but a dollar for Boston is still a steal even with that skip.
