That guy on YouTube told me to use IPA for cleaning NES pins and I messed up big
So I watched this popular retro repair channel and they said to clean cartridge pins with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I did that on like 20 of my NES games and let them dry for 2 hours. Problem is, some of the labels started peeling off at the corners because I soaked them too much. Now I only use a q-tip with MINIMAL alcohol and I dab, not rub. Has anyone else ruined a label this way?

Did I accidentally use a label remover instead of cleaner?

My dad did that once with a bunch of old jelly jars. He grabbed the wrong spray bottle and ended up with sticky labels all over the counter that wouldn't come off for weeks. He finally had to soak them in hot water and scrape them with a razor blade. The whole kitchen smelled like chemicals and old jam for days. I still don't trust any bottle that doesn't have a clear label on it now.
