Serious question, why is everyone ditching container veggies for ornamental grasses on balconies?

I think growing food in small spaces is way more rewarding than just having pretty plants that do nothing.

Read somewhere that ornamental grasses are way tougher in changing weather. Guess some folks prefer low-effort plants over the veggie gamble.

Try leafy greens like kale, they handle weather swings pretty well.

Is everyone really doing that or is it just your feed, lol. Not like ornamental grass is taking over the world.
