Tried using a headlamp for fixing my old fishing reels and it changed everything
I kept dropping tiny springs and screws on the floor until I strapped on my camping headlamp last week. The direct light right where I'm looking made it so I could actually see the parts without shadows. Anyone else use weird gear from other hobbies to make their projects easier?

Oh man, isn't it crazy how a simple light can make all the difference? I did the same thing last year trying to fix a busted zipper on my backpack, ended up grabbing my kid's bike light and strapping it to my wrist. That little beam of light saved me from losing a tiny screw in the carpet for like the fifth time. It's funny how we overlook the most basic gear until we're stuck in the dark squinting at something. Now I keep a headlamp in my toolbox, it's basically become my secret weapon for any small repair.
