TIL you can restore yellowed LEGO bricks with hydrogen peroxide and sunlight
I found my old LEGO bin from the 90s in my parents' garage last weekend. Everything had that gross yellow tint, especially the white and gray pieces. My brother said just throw them out but I looked up a fix online. Soaked them in 3% hydrogen peroxide for like 6 hours in a glass jar outside on a sunny day. The color came back on most pieces, not perfect but way better than before. Some of the darker gray ones stayed yellow though. Has anyone else tried this and got uneven results?

Yeah, the darker grays are a different plastic blend, that yellowing is baked in for good.

Man I've fought that same losing battle more times than I can count. Tried the peroxide soak trick everyone swears by and it barely touched them, just made the plastic feel a little chalky afterward. The only thing that actually made a difference for me was sanding the surface smooth and hitting it with a matte clear coat from a rattle can. You lose the original texture but at least it looks uniform instead of that patchy yellow mess. Did you try any of those retrobrighting methods or just give up on them?
