Hit 500 pages of shorthand notes from random YouTube tutorials

I picked up speed writing as a random hobby six months ago and just realized my notebook hit 500 pages of chicken scratch. Turns out I can transcribe people talking at normal speed now, which is kinda useful for work meetings. Has anyone else gotten weirdly good at something they only started messing around with?

500 pages is wild. I did something similar with deciphering old handwriting from the 1700s. Found a digitized diary from a civil war soldier online and got obsessed with reading his actual script. Six months later I can read cursive that looks like random scribbles to most people. It came in handy when my grandpa passed and left behind a bunch of letters nobody could make out.
