I finally wrecked a bath towel trying that cute animal fold

So yesterday I thought I'd try folding a towel into a little bear shape for my nephew's birthday gift. Watched a 10 minute tutorial and everything. Got halfway through and the towel just would not hold the folds. Ended up with this lopsided lumpy thing that looked more like a sad potato than a bear. Spent 20 minutes redoing it and finally just gave up and rolled it into a basic gift wrap. Has anyone else had a towel that refused to cooperate for fancy folds? Maybe mine is too thick or something.

lol "sad potato" is honestly a perfect description of what I imagine. Idk maybe your towel is just too thick and plush for those folds. I tried the same thing once with a bath sheet and it ended up looking more like a squished blobfish than anything cute. Sometimes the cheaper, flimsier towels work better for that kind of stuff because they actually hold a crease. My suggestion is to just embrace the potato, honestly. A lumpy towel bear has character.

Oh man, this is so true. Ngl I tried the same thing with one of those super thick hotel towels once and it looked more like a sad lump of dough than anything. Cheap towels are where it's at for sure, they actually fold like paper instead of just puffing up into a blob. Honestly though, I'm starting to think the potato look is the real art form here, like a modern sculpture but for your bathroom. If someone judges your towel skills, they don't deserve to see your masterpiece anyway.
