Tbh, waiting for my solar loan approval felt longer than growing a tree

I applied for a green energy loan to install panels on my roof last spring. The bank kept asking for more papers, like my recycling bin history or something. Honestly, after four months of back and forth, they approved it the day after a hailstorm. Ngl, the timing was so bad it was almost funny.

Banks have a real talent for that kind of timing. They wait until your roof might be full of dents before saying yes to putting panels on it. Classic move. That's some next level bad luck right there. You gotta laugh or you'll just be mad. Hope the damage wasn't too bad at least.

Remember my buddy who applied for a weatherization grant? He finally got it, but the check came a week after his furnace totally died in January. Had to use space heaters for like a week while waiting for a new one. I mean, the grant was for making his house more efficient, but he had to replace the whole system first.

Ugh that timing is brutal. When my water heater went, I called the assistance office first thing Monday and asked if they could speed up the check for an emergency fix. Sometimes they have a faster process for stuff like that, or can at least tell the contractor to bill them direct. Always worth calling to ask if they can do a direct pay to the HVAC company instead of mailing a check to you.
