Talked with my SSDI case worker yesterday and it changed how I think about back pay

I was on the phone with my case worker from the SSA office in Nashville for about 45 minutes. She explained that the 5 month waiting period for SSDI isn't always a full 5 months if your onset date gets pushed back by a judge. She said I might get back pay going way further than I assumed. Has anyone else had their onset date adjusted after a hearing?
