Overheard my case examiner say she denies claims based on 'vibe'

I was waiting for my appointment last Thursday at the SSA office in Portland and this lady at the front desk told another worker she approves or denies based on the person's 'vibe.' I almost lost it right there. After three years of appeals and a lawyer, they judge you on how you come across in a 15 minute meeting? Has anyone else ever heard something shady like this from inside? What do you even do with that info?
