Why does nobody talk about how much room a simple reflection filter actually kills in a small bedroom studio?

I measured my space last week and realized my cheap foam panels and mic shield were doing almost nothing after watching a YouTube video on room modes, so I spent $15 on Rockwool and built a gobo that actually fixed my weird corner echo but now I can barely fit my chair in here - has anyone else had to choose between sound quality and elbow room?

Bro i just moved my whole desk into a corner to fit my diy bass traps and now i can't open my closet door all the way. my vocal takes sound way cleaner but i keep banging my knees on the foam panels every time i stand up. had to reroute my whole xlr cable around a stand cause my mic hit the ceiling cloud i built. it's like living in a recording studio coffin but at least my low end stopped sounding like a submarine.

That corner desk life is a whole personality type at this point. Honestly, the knee bruises are just the initiation fee for that clean low end. But a closet you can't open is a dealbreaker, that's where the chaos lives. You'll be doing a full reshuffle in like three weeks anyway, we all do it. The submarine sound is gone though, so maybe it's worth sacrificing a little shin skin for that.
