That one Wednesday my slow cooker lid cracked mid dinner prep

I was making a big batch of chili for a family gathering and the lid just split right down the middle when I set it on the counter. Had to finish cooking it in a big pot on the stove instead, and it threw off the whole texture. Has anyone else had a slow cooker lid break on them like that?

Omg no way, that's literally the worst! I had that happen with a new slow cooker I got for Christmas one year. I was doing a pot roast and it wasn't even that heavy, just normal beef and veggies. The lid cracked clean across the top the second I set it down. I ended up with gravy all over the counter and had to finish in the oven, totally dried out the meat. It was such a bummer, especially cause it was a pretty pricey one too.

Slammed my hand in the car door last week trying to catch a falling Pyrex dish... worst part is I was just taking it to a potluck and the lid slipped right out of my grip. Ended up with a bruised knuckle and broken glass all over the driveway, and the mac and cheese I spent two hours on was toast. My friends still joke about me being "that guy" who shows up empty handed and bleeding... at least I had a good story.
