That week I secretly collected loose change from parking lot puddles
Last July I found 47 cents in a McDonald's parking lot puddle and it became a weird obsession. For like 5 days I'd scan every wet spot in town and pull out quarters and dimes with a pair of sticks. Ended up with $4.83 total but my coworker saw me doing it and I told her I was looking for my lost earbud. Has anyone else picked up a random hobby just because of one small weird win?

My wife's cousin told me she does something similar but with pennies she finds on the ground. She's got a whole jar labeled "sidewalk savings" in her kitchen.

I see what you're saying @michaela16 but I gotta disagree a little. Finding pennies here and there is just a bonus, it's not a real savings plan since you can't rely on finding them. A jar of random coins is more of a fun hobby than actual savings, you know?
