Wait till you hear what the guy at my LFS told me - pretty much said all that fancy feeding advice is overthinking it, these fish have been surviving on flakes and frozen brine shrimp for decades just fine.

That 30 year old flake and brine shrimp advice might work for hardier fish like danios or mollies, but for a lot of the sensitive species we keep today it just doesn't cut it. Most marine fish, especially tangs and angelfish, need more variety to stay healthy long term. Flakes lose a ton of nutrients the second they hit the water, and brine shrimp are basically just empty calories unless you gut-load them first. If you're keeping anything delicate like a seahorse or a mandarin, they'll starve on that old school diet. A good mix of frozen mysis, spirulina brine, and some pellet food with vitamin supplements makes a huge difference in color and activity. Have you noticed any changes in your fish since switching things up?
