Noticed something weird at the LFS in Denver this weekend

I was at Reef Paradise in Denver on Saturday and saw they had a massive tank full of chromis that all looked super pale and stressed. The owner said they'd lost half the group in the last week to some kind of rapid wasting thing. Has anyone else dealt with a sudden chromis die-off like that and figured out the cause?

Honestly "hardiest fish in the hobby" is a myth when it comes to chromis from certain suppliers. They often come in already stressed and carrying internal parasites that wipe them out fast once they hit a tank. Sounds like that shop got a really bad batch and didn't quarantine them long enough.

Chromis are basically the hardiest fish in the hobby, so maybe they just had a bad batch.
