That $20 clamp I snagged from a garage sale turned out to be a vintage Stanley
I was at an estate sale last June in some old guy's garage and saw a rusty clamp with a wood handle for $20. Figured it was junk but bought it anyway as a paperweight or something. After I cleaned off the crud with some wire wool, I found 'Stanley No. 55' stamped into the metal. Looked it up online and it's worth around $150 to collectors. Anyone else ever buy something that looked beat up and it ended up being the real deal?

My buddy grabbed this old dusty lamp at a thrift store for five bucks, turned out to be a 1920s Tiffany piece he sold for nearly a grand.

Read somewhere that old tools are gold if you know what to look for. A buddy found a beat up level at a flea market for cheap, turned out to be a rare Stanley from the 1800s. You never really know til you do a little digging.
