Caught the old Knight Rider rerun and it hit different this time
I was talking to my nephew who's 14 and he asked why KITT talked so slow. Made me realize how fast everything is now with cell phones and AI. We watched the episode where KITT drives through the wall in that warehouse and he was still impressed by the stunt work. Made me wonder what old shows actually hold up for younger viewers or if it's all nostalgia.

Disagree a bit on the slow talking part. KITT had a calm, deliberate voice to match his personality. He was supposed to be smarter and more patient than us. That slowness gave his lines weight. My grandkids watched an episode with me and they didn't mind it at all, they actually liked how he sounded like a wise adult rather than a phone assistant. I think fast talking instant answers got us used to surface level communication. Maybe that older pace has something to teach us.

Remember the semi from the pilot? KITT's voice modulation was actually adjustable, Michael set it to that slower pace. It wasn't just the character's personality, there was a practical reason built into the show. Still get your point about weight in the delivery, just wanted to toss that fact in.
