Vent: That one D&D session where I rolled nothing above a 6 for 3 hours straight
Last Saturday I sat down for a big boss fight with my level 5 rogue. First attack roll I got a 2, then a 3, then a 1 on my sneak attack damage. The whole party watched me fail to hit a single goblin for three rounds while the wizard was fireballing everything. I ended up using my action to throw a torch at a oil slick and lit up three enemies by accident, which turned into the funniest moment of the session. Has anyone else had a streak so bad they just gave up on rolling and started doing weird environmental stuff?

That "by accident" part killed me honestly. You were just trying to be useful and suddenly turned into a master strategist by pure luck. I once had a streak so bad with my bard that I gave up and started making up songs about how much I sucked, which actually gave the whole table inspiration points somehow. Sometimes the dice gods just want you to fail in the most creative ways possible. Your DM probably saw that torch move and was like "finally, this guy figured out how to play" when really you were just messing around.

Honestly, not quite a "master strategist" moment for me either. It was more like I panicked and threw a torch, and the dice just happened to be on my side for once. Ngl, your bard story is way better though. Making up sad songs about your own failure sounds like peak chaotic energy.
