Why does nobody talk about grabbing a local sim card for internet when working abroad?

I tried working from a beach town in Mexico for two weeks. The Airbnb Wi-Fi kept cutting out during important calls. I bought a local sim card with a data plan for about twenty bucks. It gave me a steady connection and saved my work day. Your mileage may vary, but for me, it's a simple fix that beats stressing over spotty Wi-Fi.

Did that in Portugal last year and it was a total game-changer for my remote work.

What was your actual work setup like there?

Wait WHAT, last year? How did you even make that happen with all the travel rules back then? That timing alone is absolutely wild to me. You must have had everything planned down to the minute. Seriously impressive you pulled it off and it actually worked for your job.
