Used to just leave cat food bowls on the deck, now I use a weighted ceramic dish with a rubber base
I mean, my cat Pearl used to knock her bowl around every single morning and spill kibble all over the deck boards. Around three months ago I switched to this heavy ceramic dish I found at a garage sale for $4 and it has a rubber ring on the bottom so it doesn't slide. Has anyone else had to completely change their feeding setup because of a clumsy pet?

Tape a piece of heavy tile or slate under the bowl. That's what I did for my knucklehead cat who thought the bowl was a hockey puck. Fixed the sliding issue and cost me nothing.

Wait, you found a weighted ceramic dish with a rubber base at a garage sale for only four bucks? That's insane, those usually go for like twenty or thirty dollars at the pet store. I've been looking for something exactly like that for my dog Max who slides his bowl all over the kitchen floor. I guess I need to start hitting up garage sales more often. It must be nice to have a setup that doesn't move an inch.
