Visited a cat cafe in Portland and noticed everyone only posts the perfect shots

I was at Meow Town in Portland last weekend watching people try to get photos of cats. Almost every person would snap like 20 blurry photos of a cat mid-yawn or with its tongue out before finally getting one good one. Nobody ever shares those 19 failed shots on social media. But those are the ones that actually capture what cats are like. The perfect sitting pretty pose is nice but the derpy tongue out or the weird double chin angle is way more entertaining. Has anyone else noticed this at pet cafes or shelters?

Nobody ever shares those 19 failed shots on social media" - that line really hits home. I think we've all been trained to only show the polished version of things, whether it's cats or our own lives. Those goofy tongue-out or blurry action shots tell a much better story about what cats are actually like. It's a shame we feel the need to filter out all the funny imperfections.

Hold up wait wait wait. You're telling me people actually sit there and take 19 photos just to get one good one? That's insane. Ngl I just snap one picture of my cat and if it's blurry or he's mid-yawn looking like a total gremlin, that's the one I'm posting. Honestly the goofy faces are the whole point of having a cat. If I wanted perfect I'd just look at stock photos on the internet.
