Showerthought: the 'treat on the camera' trick stopped working 6 years ago, but blowing on my cat's ear gets me the derpiest photo every single time.

My cat used to pose perfectly for a treat, then she got wise and now just stares at my hand, but last week I accidentally blew on her ear mid-yawn and caught the exact split-second where she looks like a cross-eyed goblin, has anyone else found a weird random thing that works better than the usual tricks?

Oh man, my friend Sarah had a cat that would completely ignore every trick in the book for photos. She tried treats, toys, even that crinkly ball thing, nothing worked. Then one day she was on a zoom call and her cat walked by, and she just barely sneezed. Her cat froze mid-step with this wild bug-eyed look, ears flat, like she was startled but also curious. Sarah grabbed her phone and snapped it, and now that pic is her screensaver. She says a quick quiet sneeze works every time now, but if you actually cough or sniffle the cat just walks away.

That is way too specific but also kind of brilliant... @susan_ward tell Sarah she's unlocked some kind of secret cat language or something. I've got two cats and the only trick that ever worked for me was pretending I was totally ignoring them, then they'd do something goofy and I'd snap it. My life is basically just a series of blurry cat butt photos because they always move right when I hit the button.
