Bought a $12 squeaky toy that lasted 8 minutes flat

I got my beagle this fancy squeaky hedgehog from the pet store last Tuesday. It was twelve bucks and I thought it might last a weekend at least. Nope, she had the squeaker ripped out in eight minutes and the stuffing was all over my living room rug. I should have stuck with the dollar store tennis balls that at least hold up for a week. Has anyone else had a dog destroy a toy faster than they expected?

@wren806 The thing that gets me is how much faster dogs seem to target the squeaker these days. Like they know that's the whole point of the toy. Maybe you could try hiding the squeaker inside a second toy, that's been working for my mutt since she gets bored trying to get to it. @seth_carr you hit the nail on the head with dollar balls, my lab mix treats squeaker toys like a personal challenge too.

Dollar store tennis balls are the real MVPs, my labrador destroys anything with a squeaker in under ten minutes.
