Was surprised to learn my cat's Halloween costume from last year had over 200 stitches in it
I was digging through old photos on my phone and found the vampire cat costume I made for my cat Shadow last October. I hand-stitched the whole thing because she hates sewing machines. Counted the stitches out of curiosity and it was 217. Took me like 4 evenings. Has anyone else put way more work into a pet costume than they planned?

Wrap the costume in a plastic bag and stash it somewhere safe. I learned that lesson the hard way after my dog's knight costume got chewed up by the actual dog a week after Halloween. Now I keep my pet costumes in a sealed bin with dryer sheets to keep the bugs away.

Man oh man that reminds me of my buddy Tony. He spent like three weeks sewing a t-rex costume for his pug Buster. Hand embroidered little scales all over it and even made tiny felt claws for the paws. Buster wore it for maybe ten minutes on Halloween before he rolled over in the mud and ruined the whole thing. Tony was so mad he threw the costume in the trash but I think he secretly saved a picture of it.
