Walking past the empty storefront of our old PC club, I miss the hands-on build sessions.

Man, our thermal paste budget was the second mortgage!

Think about the old club days when we'd pool money for one big tube of Arctic Silver, making it last through a dozen builds. We learned to apply it thin as a whisper, wasting nothing, because every gram counted. Nowadays, with pre-applied paste on coolers and single-use syringes, that group effort is gone. It's not just about cost, it's about the community skill we lost.

Remember when we called it a club and not just a bunch of dudes in a basement arguing over thermal paste? Those were the days. Now you just watch some teenager on YouTube do it in perfect 4K while your own cable management looks like a spiderweb. I guess the real club now is trying to afford a graphics card without taking out a second mortgage. At least we got our hands dirty instead of just playing PC building simulator.
