Stretching at my bench saved my accuracy, but my peers call it a waste of time
I hear a lot of folks in the shop say that stopping to stretch just kills your flow. I used to believe that too. But last year, my wrists started hurting bad from all the precise cutting. My hand would shake, and I'd mess up the pattern lines. So I tried taking five minutes each hour to stretch my wrists and back. It felt silly at first, but the pain went away fast. Now, my cuts are cleaner, and I waste less material. Some guys laugh, but I know it keeps me sharp for the fine details.

Focus on staying healthy, not beating others.

Seriously, that's not just saving your accuracy, it's building your edge over time. Those little pauses add up to way more consistency than anyone grinding through the pain. While they're laughing, you're the one hitting perfect lines every single shift.
