Found out my usual parking spot saves me 12 minutes a week

I timed my walk from the far end of the lot vs the front spot near the doors over 5 days last week. Turns out that extra 30 seconds per trip to park further away adds up to over 10 hours a year. Anyone else ever clocked their parking lot commute time?

57 seconds each way over 5 days a week adds up way faster than people think. Did you actually track the gas savings too or just the time? I clocked my own lot last winter and found the warmup time for the defroster totally changed the math for me. Were you factoring in how long it takes to get the kids buckled in or just the walking part?

Kids strapped in or wrestling with jackets... that's a hidden time sink too. Did your gas savings actually outweigh the idle time once the numbers were crunched?
