Hit 1,000 hours on my old Sony Trinitron CRT this week
Was just keeping track for fun on a sticky note taped to the side, didn't think I'd actually hit a round number. That thing's been my daily driver for retro gaming since I grabbed it off a curb in Austin back in 2017. Even with all these newer monitors out there, nothing beats the way light guns work on it. Anyone else got a weird milestone like this with their old gear?

Man, I totally get that. I have a little tally counter taped to my old Commodore 1084 monitor because I wanted to see how many times I'd reload a save state in Final Fight. It's not even about the number, it's just satisfying to see that physical mark add up over years of gaming. My CRT has this specific warm glow that makes everything look right, especially the old shooters. Light guns just don't work on modern TVs without that scanline lag, and it drives me crazy. Yours is a nice round milestone, I'm only at 847 on mine but I'm chasing you.

Nah @the_ruby, gotta disagree here. Taping a tally counter to a monitor feels like extra pointless busywork, just let the save states happen and move on.
