Spent $600 on a cheap lift kit and learned the hard way

Back in 2018 I figured I'd save some cash and bought a no-name 4 inch lift for my old Jeep Cherokee. Installation was a nightmare, bolts didn't line up right, and I had to drill out three holes anyway. After about 6 months the rear springs sagged almost 2 inches and the bushings were totally shot. Ended up paying a shop $400 to rip it all out and put in a proper Rough Country kit. Anyone else get burned by going too cheap on suspension parts?

Blew a buddy's mind when he did the same thing on his F150... he spent like $500 on a no-name leveling kit and the front coils snapped clean in half three months later while he was just driving to work. Lucky nobody got hurt but his truck was sagging so bad it looked like a sad dog. Had to pay double what he saved to get it fixed right with a real kit.

Three hundred bucks for a no-name kit should've been a red flag from the start, @paul117. Cheap metal and bad welds always break or bend under real truck weight. Sometimes saving money upfront just costs you double later.
