Saw a stock 4Runner on the Rubicon Trail last weekend

I drove out to the Rubicon last Saturday and there was a bone stock 4Runner with street tires trying to crawl through the granite slabs. Dude had no recovery gear, no winch, and his bumper was already hanging off after the first mile. Has anyone else seen people show up way underprepared at a famous trail?
