The weird way my keyboard changed after I stopped eating at my desk for 2 months
I used to eat lunch right over my keyboard at work, crumbs and all. About 8 weeks ago I started taking my sandwich to the break room instead because someone complained about the smell of tuna. Last week I noticed the keys on my mechanical board feel completely different, way snappier and less sticky. I realized all that built up gunk under the spacebar and around the letter keys was actually slowing down my typing without me noticing. Has anyone else had a big change in their gear just from changing one small habit?

Wait, you had actual tuna juice dripping into your switches? I feel you on that, my G915 was getting super sluggish under the G and H keys and I finally realized it was from years of half-eaten cheez-its crumbling down in there. It's wild how we just accept the mushy feeling as "normal" until it's gone, right? Like I didn't even know my left shift key was damped until I blew it out with compressed air and it felt like a brand new switch. Honestly getting that gunk out made my whole setup feel like an upgrade (and I didn't have to spend $200 on a new board which is always nice).

Whoa, wait - you actually ate tuna over your keyboard for months? That's wild, I can just imagine the lingering fish smell in those switches. But yeah, I've definitely noticed how much gunk builds up under the spacebar without you even realizing it. I've been guilty of eating chips over my board and then wondering why certain keys feel mushy. It's one of those things you don't notice until it's gone, kind of like how you don't realize how dirty your glasses are until you clean them. Your mileage may vary but I bet your switches are breathing easier now without all that crumb sediment in there.
