Overheard a guy at the junk shop say you can fix warped vinyl records with two sheets of glass and a warm oven
I was digging through a crate of beat-up 45s near Seattle last Saturday and this older dude next to me pulled out a super warped copy of some old funk single. He told me to put it between two clean panes of glass, slide it in the oven at 150 degrees for like 10 minutes, then let it cool under a stack of books. I tried it yesterday on a thrift store find that looked like a potato chip, and ngl it actually flattened out pretty good. Has anyone else tried this trick or am I gonna wreck my records doing it again?

Are you sure that funk record wasn't already garbage before you cooked it? You're basically heat-treating the vinyl's internal stresses permanently which might make it brittle and crackly over time.
